Silence the Shame, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating mental health stigma, reducing health disparities, and improving rates of suicide among vulnerable populations. Through community conversations, compelling content, and culturally responsive programs, we aim to normalize the conversation, peel back the layers of shame, and promote mental wellness for vulnerable and disparate population groups, including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer or Questioning (LGBTQ+), individuals in high-stress jobs, older adults and rural communities. Silence the Shame was branded to eliminate the shame and stigma of mental health challenges
Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation
Named in honor of Boris Lawrence Henson, father of founder Taraji P. Henson, who suffered mental health challenges without resources or support, the Foundation exists to both normalize and improve access to mental health services for Black communities in hopes of eradicating the stigma around seeking help and support
Created by Dr. Anita Phillips, the ‘The Turn The Light On Movement’ is an initiative that aims to illuminate the intersection of mental health, culture, and faith.
Therapy for Black Girls is an online space dedicated to encouraging the mental wellness of Black women and girls.
This platform was created to promote, inspire, and elevate other black female therapists and create a safe space for black mental health. BFT gives mental health therapists a chance to show their #blackgirlmagic and makes it easier to connect with individuals nationwide.

BEAM is a national training, movement building, and grant making institution that is dedicated to the healing, wellness, and liberation of Black and marginalized communities.

BlackLine is a unique combination of professional staff, trained volunteers and collaborative partnerships to create innovative responses to pressing social needs and issues. Sista Afya Community Mental Wellness' vision is for Black women across the African Diaspora to be free from psychological and physical illness through supporting one another and engaging in accessible mental wellness care that centers the well-being of the whole person.
Fitness
JourneyFit is a gym located in Dallas and Richardson, TX. Started by Victoria Thomas, one of the top trainers in the Metroplex Area. Thomas’s gym prioritizes making individuals physically and most importantly mentally fit by making a structured fitness plan that will help people reach their fitness goals.
Their location in downtown Dallas near the farmer’s market offers a wide-open area and fantastic views. They do have a studio, but they also offer many community workshops and outdoor group yoga sessions. They offer a variety of classes ranging from deep stretch, meditation, high intensity, and restorative.
Vive is one of the premium personal training studios in Dallas, located in Oak Lawn. It offers private and semi-private sessions, elite training which includes a meal plan, and bioprint and nutrition analysis. They also offer Fascial Stretch Therapy after your sessions to ensure your muscles are getting the proper stretching and maintenance. Clients pay per session (either 30 or 60 minutes) so there’s no contracts or package commitments.
